Moments in the Project

Why is it important to be part of this TEEN CAMP in Amazon Jungle?

Every year, more than 4,900 cases of illegal animal trafficking are reported in the Amazon. At the Amazon TEEN CAMP, you not only help rehabilitate rescued species, you also become an active part of a real and urgent cause. This experience goes beyond volunteering: it connects you to the planet, strengthens your character, improves your relationships, and raises your self-esteem. Learning to lead starts here, in the middle of the jungle, where your impact counts and your personal growth becomes inevitable.

Program Details

Location

The rescue center is located near the city of Puyo, in the province of Pastaza, a natural jewel of eastern Ecuador. This privileged place immerses you in the true essence of the Amazon rainforest, surrounded by crystal clear rivers, hidden waterfalls and a biodiversity that amazes at every turn. Pastaza is known for being one of the territories with the greatest ecological wealth in the country, home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna unique in the world.

Here, nature is not only observed, it is lived. It is the perfect setting to reconnect with the essentials, learn from ancestral wisdom and be part of a cause that protects life in its purest form.

Accommodation and Food

During your stay at Amazon TEEN CAMP, you will live the authentic experience of the jungle in comfortable bungalow-style wooden cabins, with separate areas for men and women. Each room is shared by 4 to 5 participants and is equipped with sheets, pillows and bedspreads to ensure your rest. Bathrooms and showers (with hot water) are shared by gender, and electricity is available 24 hours a day.

We have a hammock area perfect for relaxing in your free moments, surrounded by the tranquility of the natural environment.

In terms of food, you’ll enjoy 3 basic meals a day inspired by the traditional cuisine of the region, with vegetarian options available. The menu has been designed to be nutritious, although it may differ from what you’re used to at home. We have unlimited purified water, and while we are looking to adapt to dietary restrictions, it is important to remember that there are logistical limitations when cooking in a remote environment like the Amazon. Still, we strive to provide you with an experience that is safe, balanced, and full of local flavour.

Communication

At TEEN CAMP Amazonia, we understand how important it is for families to be connected. For this reason, we maintain daily communication with parents or legal guardians through a direct line with our coordinators, who will provide updated information on the well-being of the participants, outstanding anecdotes and the activities carried out during the day.

To ensure true immersion in the experience, students’ use of mobile devices will be restricted. This measure fosters real connection with the environment, the group and with themselves, strengthening the program’s focus on personal growth, integration and conscious leadership.

Safety

The safety and well-being of our participants is our top priority. At Amazon TEEN CAMP we have a 24/7 monitoring system, with one coordinator assigned for every 10 students, which guarantees close, personalized and constant attention. Our staff is highly trained and certified in first aid and CPR, in addition to having coaches specialized in youth leadership, local guides who are experts in the area and professionals trained in the safe handling of wildlife.

From the first day, participants receive an exhaustive orientation talk focused on personal safety, respect for local customs and protocols in case of any eventuality. We follow strict rules in animal handling and have a clear and effective emergency plan in place. This structure allows us to offer an enriching, safe and deeply transformative experience.

FAQ

Program And General Experience

Amazon TEEN CAMP is not tourism or conventional entertainment. It is an international leadership, volunteering, and personal development program where teenagers live real experiences of social impact, animal rescue, and environmental conservation. Every activity is intentionally designed with educational goals that strengthen character, responsibility, empathy, and future vision.
Because it is much more than a trip—it is a transformational life experience. Amazon TEEN CAMP combines leadership training, volunteering, emotional development, teamwork, and personal growth in a real international environment. Participants develop independence, maturity, confidence, empathy, and social skills that create long-term impact far beyond the days of the camp.
Students strengthen self-confidence, improve decision-making, develop leadership skills, enhance communication, increase adaptability, and build a more mature global perspective. They also grow in values such as empathy, commitment, responsibility, and initiative—essential skills for university and adult life.
No. The program is designed both for teenagers experiencing their first international opportunity and for those who already have leadership experience. Our methodology supports each student according to their personal development level, ensuring a meaningful and enriching experience for everyone.

Each day combines volunteer missions, leadership workshops, teamwork challenges, cultural activities, personal reflection, animal rescue support, habitat maintenance, reforestation, and educational adventure experiences. The goal is not only to learn, but to live real processes that strengthen personal growth and responsible decision-making.

Animal Rescue And Amazon Conservation

Teenagers collaborate in a rescue center that works with rescued species such as birds, monkeys, turtles, reptiles, and other native Amazon wildlife. There is no direct physical contact with dangerous or potentially aggressive species. All activities are carried out under strict professional supervision and following animal safety and welfare protocols.
Yes, students actively participate. They support real tasks such as food preparation, habitat cleaning, maintenance work, environmental enrichment, responsible observation, and conservation support. This is not a tourist visit—it is an educational volunteer experience with real impact on wildlife protection.

The rescue center operates under principles of responsible conservation and complete respect for wildlife. Animal exploitation and inappropriate interactions are never allowed. All activities follow ethical protocols established by professionals specialized in rehabilitation, protection, and animal welfare. The goal is always the recovery and conservation of each species.

Amazon TEEN CAMP is not tourism or passive observation. It is an international educational volunteer experience where teenagers participate in real animal rescue projects and Amazon habitat conservation. Every activity has both a learning purpose and environmental impact, making the experience deeply transformational.

Safety And Supervision

Yes. Safety is the foundation of the entire program. Amazon TEEN CAMP provides 24/7 supervision, CPR and First Aid certified coordinators, emergency protocols, safe transportation, verified accommodation, and quick access to medical centers. We also maintain constant communication with parents throughout the experience to ensure peace of mind and immediate response if needed.

Yes. Students participate in a controlled environment with permanent supervision from coordinators specialized in environmental conservation, youth leadership, First Aid, and group management. We have preventive protocols adapted to the Amazon environment, constant supervision, and emergency plans that ensure a safe and well-structured experience.

Participants are accompanied at all times by mentors specialized in youth leadership, safety, and emotional support. The entire team is trained in First Aid, emergency management, and teen group supervision. We also have female coordinators dedicated to supporting female participants.
We have immediate response protocols, First Aid trained staff, and nearby access to clinics and medical centers. In addition, all participants must have international medical insurance. In any situation, our team responds quickly and keeps parents informed at all times.

Emotional Adaptation And Well-Being

This is completely normal. Our team is prepared to provide constant emotional support and help students adapt positively. Mentors work closely with each participant to strengthen confidence, social integration, and emotional well-being throughout the entire experience.
Feeling uncertain in a natural environment like the Amazon is normal. Before the trip, we provide preparation and guidance to help students better understand the environment. During the program, mentors support gradual and safe adaptation. In cases of severe phobias, we evaluate each situation individually with the family.

Logistics And Travel

The program includes secure accommodation, daily meals, volunteer activities, leadership training, 24/7 supervision, internal program transportation, and an official participation certificate. International flights, travel insurance, personal expenses, and immigration procedures are not included, although our team supports families throughout the entire preparation process.
Yes. Many international families participate every year. Our team guides parents from flight booking to final arrival at the destination. We coordinate schedules, airport reception, and travel logistics to ensure students travel safely and confidently from their home country.

Students stay in safe and private accommodations located within the same project environment, with constant supervision. Coordinators stay in separate quarters but within the same camp perimeter, allowing immediate support, continuous monitoring, and a protected environment throughout the entire experience.

Communication With Parents

Once the group arrives at the destination, our team contacts parents or guardians directly to confirm safe arrival. During the program, we also share regular updates, photos, and general news about the group’s experience.

Yes. Although we promote a digital disconnection experience to strengthen immersion and personal growth, scheduled times are established for family communication. In any important or urgent situation, parents can also contact the program coordinators directly.
