What You Need to Know Before Ecuador Volunteer.

The Ecuador Volunteer Foundation (EVF) is a non-profit, legally authorized organization (Ministerial Resolution Nº 0350) dedicated to developing and supporting volunteer programs that foster collaboration with local communities across Ecuador and internationally

Volunteers are advised to arrive at least 2–3 days before their project start date. This time allows for orientation, cultural adaptation, paperwork, and last-minute preparations like purchasing supplies .

Most programs are available year‑round, but you should apply at least 1–2 months in advance. Applying on scheduled start dates allows you to join cohorts with other volunteers

As a non-governmental non-profit, EVF does not receive public funding. The fees—registration, program, and donations—are essential to cover administrative costs, volunteer support, meals, accommodations, and project implementation in communities with limited resources

Funds cover administrative operations, project materials, volunteer lodging, meals, and promotions. EVF maintains a strict no‑refund policy on program payments .
